Today, July 25th, we took Daddy out to celebrate his 87th birthday. His birthday is the 2nd of August, but we will be out of town. We were going to the Waterfront Grill at Black Bear Country Club, (Poverty Point Lake) north of Delhi. We called for reservations and they were closed today. After much deliberation we decided to go to Ronin Habachi Steak House and Sushi Bar.
Our chief, Peter, was very funny and extremely nimble. We had filet mignon and grilled shrimp with salad, soup, grilled vegetables, and the best fried rice I have ever had. Everything was so delicious. The staff came out and brought Daddy a big platter of Ice Cream with cherries and whipped cream and a candle on top. They sang Happy Birthday to him. I told him to be careful when he blew his candle out and not lose his teeth. We all had a great evening. It was good to be together.

July

It was so very, very good to be with Jason, Jessica, James and Anita on Father's Day. Love that cookie cake! First time in a long while since we were all together during that occasion.

Not much going on. To hot to do anything. Nita did go out to Oscar's garden and help them. She brought back some tomatoes, squash, okra and butterbeans. This week we had BLTs, butterbeans and fried okra with cornbread. Fried chicken and a squash casserole. OH MY!

Hard to believe this year is half over already. Time is just flying by. Brian and Jessica are helping me build a website for my video biz. They are doing a great job. I know you will like it when they are finish. Thanks Guys!

Family at Six Flags

While Jessica and James were home for a visit we went to Six Flags in Arlington, TX. Jason came up from Houston and we had a great time together. James loved the rides and you had to pry him off every time because he wanted to ride again and again.
